Will you be offering Saturday services at any of your campuses again?

There have been numerous questions concerning Saturday evening worship services at our campuses. Until March of 2020, Lakeville hosted a Saturday evening worship service. None of the other campuses have hosted Saturday evening worship services in the recent past.

Presently, we have no specific timeline for implementation of a Saturday service at any of our campuses. We do continue to evaluate options based upon the following criteria:

  • Are we able to facilitate Sunday worship services/Kid’s ministry from the perspective of volunteers?
  • Is there a demand for a Saturday service because of seating capacity problems on Sunday?
  • Are their requests for a Saturday evening service?
  • What are the volunteer needs to host a Saturday evening service/Kid’s ministry?
  • Do we have the volunteer resources to meet those needs?
  • How does implementing a Saturday service at any of our campuses impact stewardship of our staffing time?

As we continue to ask these questions, we listen intently for clarity from the Holy Spirit concerning next steps. To this point, we have not gotten clarity to move forward with a Saturday service at any of our campuses.

What are the plans for Christmas at Hosanna this year? Will there be a Christmas Concert?

We are busy preparing beautiful and meaningful Christmas services filled with the stories and sounds of Christmas, including live strings and many of our performers leading us in song. We will end with the treasured tradition of singing “Silent Night” by candlelight. Mark your calendars and join us on December 22, 23, or 24. We can’t wait to spend Christmas together!

And what about the Hosanna Christmas Concert? We know the concert is a beloved tradition for many. As you can imagine, creating this experience requires many months of intense planning and scheduling of orchestra, choirs, soloists, and performers. Together, we continue to best navigate this challenging season of change when it comes to the pandemic.

During the planning phase in early 2021, we made the difficult decision to postpone the Hosanna Christmas Concert this year. At the time when we had to make the decision, mask mandates were still in place, and the uncertainty around COVID precautions and protocols for crowds, choirs, and safety measures for professional musicians and performers made the timeline far too tight and unpredictable to ensure we could provide the concert this year.

Hosanna’s primary focus has been putting our staff, volunteers, and financial resources toward supporting and caring for our community well. Please join us in praying for our continued discernment as we look to Jesus in how to best care for and love our community. We look forward to reassessing the concert in early 2022.
