Sermon Series

He Shall Be Called

Thousands of years of telling and retelling the Christmas story have not diminished this message of hope, “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he shall be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NLT). We store these words in our hearts as a full picture of God’s majesty, strength, and love for His people. During Advent, we prepare room for our Messiah. We rejoice in our unchanging God, His magnitude and many qualities. In every name that “He shall be called”, we see Jesus. The prophet Isaiah’s words have been fulfilled. For the joy, hope, and peace of the world, our Savior has come!
